I am so sorry to have to say this, but I am no fan of Denver. I can’t really explain it, but it is one of my least favorite cities and that’s saying a lot because I’ve been up and down in the South and there are some haunts there. I knew we had to eat, and thanks to our plumber, we already had a place in mind: Denver Biscuit Company. I chose the Colfax location (there are multiple locations) because it was close to the zoo. We would have gone to the Botanical Gardens, but they’re closed on Mondays. Plus, Zach is a huge fan of animals so it was only fitting for us to go to the Denver Zoo. Denver Biscuit Company and Fat Sully’s, which is a pizza spot within the same building, did not disappoint and it was what I didn’t know I needed. On a trip like this, I don’t care much about food, so it’s a treat to have non snack foods sprinkled in there to round out the meals.

We had to make reservations for the zoo as well and chose 2 PM so we had plenty of time before our flight at 7:30 PM. Zoos tend to make me sad at times, but I actually had a lot of fun at this one and loved seeing animals I had never seen before. The weather was overcast and they corralled you through the zoo with one ways, and I almost prefer that method with or without a pandemic. Overall, a great experience.

We dropped off the car at 5 PM, headed to the airport, and off we went.
